ADzero BAMBOO PHONE

The light smartphone called the "ADzero" is created from 4-year-old organically grown bamboo and runs on Google Android. It is half the weight of an iphone and also has a larger screen.

London-based inventor Scott Kieron Woodhouse, a student at Middlesex University, developed the smartphone on his spare time. A technology entrepreneur contacted Woodhouse after spotting his design online, and now the handset is becoming a reality.

They choose bamboo as the material because it grows fast, is sustainable, it has extra durability, and can be locally sourced from China.

The Bamboo phone will be available in the U.K. first at design-focused retailers and boutiques, and later at other markets. Details about pricing and release date were not announced at this time.
